EBARA invited David Briel, Senior Managing Director of the Office of International Trade & Investment Promotion, Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED), and Hiroyoshi Okayama, Representative of the Japan Investment Office, DCED, to visit and exchange opinions at its Haneda, Head office on March 24, 2026.
This meeting, the first since October 2024, was held as part of a series of visits to major corporations, industry associations, and academia, with the purpose of paying courtesy calls and exchanging information with Japanese companies based in Pennsylvania.
EBARA was selected for the visit because Elliott Company, which is a core operating company under EBARA's Energy Company, maintains its headquarters and flagship manufacturing plant in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, and is actively involved in local employment and capital investment.
At the beginning of the day, EBARA CEO & COO Shugo Hosoda expressed gratitude for the visit. Takanobu Miyaki, President of the Energy Company, and Teruaki Tsukamoto, Division Executive of the CP Hydrogen & Aerospace Strategic Business Unit, then explained: 1) the Energy Company's strategy and recent initiatives, 2) solutions for the steel industry, and 3) greenhouse gas reduction initiatives in Pennsylvania. The meeting was followed by an exchange of views on hydrogen-related projects in Pennsylvania. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to confirm further strengthening of collaboration.
