Pump seminar held in Myanmar

2018.02.23
EBARA CORPORATION

Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") held a pump technology seminar at the Myanmar Engineering Society (MES) in Yangon, Myanmar for two days on February 15th and 16th, 2018. The seminars in Myanmar have been held for the first time in 24 years, with this being the 11th. Approximately 40 people from government agencies, local governments, and private companies participated in the seminar.

Myanmar is experiencing rapid economic growth, and large-scale urban planning is underway in the largest city, Yangon, the capital, Naypyidaw, and the second largest city, Mandalay, resulting in a growing demand for water infrastructure. The Ebara Group established a representative office in Yangon in November 2015 and has received numerous inquiries since. At the seminar, there was a great deal of interest in plans for pump equipment to be used in water infrastructure related projects such as renovation of water facilities, flood prevention, and sewerage development.

EBARA has deepened mutual understanding in countries around the world through international cooperation such as technical guidance. Since the establishment of the EBARA Hatakeyama Seiji Memorial Fund in 1989, more than 250 seminars have been held around the world, with a total of more than 12,000 participants. In fiscal 2016, a total of eight seminars are scheduled to be held in Vietnam, Thailand and other countries.

EBARA will continue to contribute to the development of Southeast Asian countries not only by providing pumps and other products and services, but also through international cooperation activities such as technical seminars.
