Work Responsibilities
Using cameras and sensors installed in factories to understand the posture and movements of workers on the manufacturing floor, we are developing solutions to improve worker safety and work efficiency, such as an app that evaluates the physical load based on that information. By utilizing such systems, we can improve high-strain tasks and low-efficiency operations. I originally worked on the development of factory systems utilizing image processing and AI technology at an automotive company. Specifically, it was the development of automation technologies for exterior vehicle inspections and analysis of human work. Leveraging that experience, I became involved in the development of solutions using camera information at EBARA as well.
Regarding Daily Motivation and How to Acquire Skills
Our Data Strategy Team, to which we belong, has many mid-career hires and members with various backgrounds. It is a unique organization within EBARA and working there is a great attraction. It also contributes positively to the acquiring new knowledge. Moreover, while there are increasing cases of incorporating technology and AI into manufacturing sites, many of them aim to automate part of the operations. At EBARA we utilize these technologies to enhance human capabilities, aiming to build services centered around people. I often resonate with that way of thinking, which leads to a sense of fulfillment.
Future Aspirations and My Message to Younger Generations
For many people, EBARA is perceived as a "historical infrastructure company," which tends to have an old and rigid image. However, when you actually work here, you find that there are many new initiatives, and I feel that there are many employees, from executives to the field, who are open to utilizing new technologies and systems. Sometimes I think, "Isn't it too tolerant?" I feel that way (laughs). In that sense, I believe we can take on various challenges. Additionally, personally, I want to not only solve the problems of the manufacturing site directly but also analyze the psychological background and unconscious habits of workers underlying those problems to propose more innovative DX solutions. To achieve that, I will deepen my learning in psychology, behavioral economics, and UX design.
