Production Technology

Eiji Oshima (Machining Technology) / Fujisawa

Work responsibilities

I am responsible for the machining and automation of parts called "rotors" of dry vacuum pumps. An automated dry vacuum pump plant requires extensive knowledge of electricity and controls, because not only the machining of rotors, but also the feeding and discharge of rotors into and out of the machine are automated by robots and other means. It's rewarding to be able to achieve your goals and share joy with your friends.

Changes and evolutions from the past in the monozukuri (manufacturing) field

This is due to the increase in high-mix, low-volume production. As a result, frequent changes in setup occur, so we have come up with flexible production methods to perform those tasks quickly. The processing and measurement programs are not just one connected program, but are created by dividing the program for each pattern and changing it to a method that combines what is necessary.

Future goals & message to young people

The dry vacuum pump automation factory operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. By producing good products at low cost through automation and high-precision machining, I want to show the world that Japan is a country of monozukuri. On the other hand, even as we move forward with automation, I want the younger generation to experience processing firsthand. I want them to become "digital craftsmen" who fuse digital and analog, and I want to be one myself.
