Manufacturing

Takashi Maeda (Assembly Technology)/Futtsu

Work responsibilities

In addition to assembly testing and painting of custom pumps, we also manage logistics within the Futtsu Plant. Dynamic manufacturing is rewarding because it is a large product. It is limited to this. Even with products of the same model, procedures, including safety, change drastically between small items and large products.

Changes and evolutions from the past in the monozukuri (manufacturing) field

We are trying to improve work efficiency through digitalization. Things like procedures and assembly quality check sheets are being digitized. We have also promoted initiatives to pass on skills by converting tacit knowledge such as the experiences and thoughts of craftsmen into data. With efficient instruction, it is now possible to learn what takes 10 years in about 2 years.

Future goals & message to young people

The manufacturing industry is a “change-responsive industry.” I want young people to learn this way of thinking firmly and evolve day by day. Personally, I would like to take on the challenge of making our plants more automated and unmanned, thereby adding value to our products, meanwhile improving our quality control. It is my mission to create such a system.
