Work Responsibilities

We are building a system to aggregate and utilize IoT data and knowledge data (knowledge and know-how held by employees) generated at manufacturing sites and other locations on the metaverse. The initiative to recreate all information, including people and things, in real spaces such as factories on the metaverse and use it to advance business operations forms the foundation of the ongoing EBARA-D3 project. In addition to aggregating data in a virtual space, we have implemented gamification and AI technologies (such as real-time translation and suggestions for relevant knowledge) to make users want to use the service.

Regarding Daily Motivation and How to Acquire Skills

Information and know-how on the manufacturing floor tends to become tacit knowledge, making it difficult to share, and problems such as it not being passed on to the next generation can easily arise. As the birthrate declines and the population ages, it is important to start accumulating the knowledge and skills of experienced workers now and pass them on to younger workers. By doing so, we hope to prevent Japan from losing its strong on-site capabilities. We believe that the metaverse is an effective means of accumulating data and knowledge and utilizing on-site knowledge, and will bring benefits to the entire Japanese manufacturing industry. It's very rewarding.

Future Aspirations and My Message to Younger Generations

I would like to continue building a big data infrastructure that can utilize AI. I believe this is the key point of the D3 project, and I would like to link information from all bases, both domestically and internationally. We believe that implementing real-time translation and creating an environment where domestic and overseas employees can communicate freely on the metaverse will accelerate the above efforts. Furthermore, I would like to expand the D3 system outside the company and revitalize domestic industry. At EBARA there are many people who support new challenges, and the environment allows you to actively pursue your initiatives. I hope to accumulate a wide range of knowledge and experience here and to find more colleagues to tackle challenges with me.
