Received an order for pump equipment construction for Nishihara Stormwater Pump Station in Sendai City

EBARA Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA") has received an order from Sendai City for the construction of three new large pumps at the Nishihara Stormwater Pump Station (hereinafter referred to as "this pump station").

1. Background and Objectives

Located in the eastern part of Sendai City, this pump station began operation in 2015 as a flood prevention measure for areas frequently hit by flooding. However, in recent years, there are concerns that further flood damage may occur due to land subsidence caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake and progress in urbanization due to land readjustment projects, etc., so the installation of three additional large pumps will help reduce flood damage.
