High school students invited to Fujisawa office and factory
-Special tour held for high school students who won the EBARA Corporation Award at JSEC2024-

1. Background and Objectives
JSEC (Japan Science & Engineering Challenge) is a free research contest in science, technology and mathematics that was started in 2003 by The Asahi Shimbun Company, with the aim of improving Japan's science and technology standards by enhancing science and mathematics education. EBARA has set out to practice advanced ESG management in its long-term vision, "E-Vision 2030," and as part of this, it aims to develop global human resources who will lead the next generation. In support of the JSEC's objectives, we have established the EBARA Corporation Award to recognize particularly outstanding research. This tour is a special program created as a secondary prize for the EBARA Corporation Award.
2. Overview
(1) Program
① Event period: Thursday, March 13th to Friday, March 14th
② Tour Contents:
・Showroom and factory tours
・VR technology experience
・Introduction of xR technology and our new land-based aquaculture business
・Presentation of the winning research
(2) Comments from Tamagawa Gakuen High School students
・Yurika Tsuji
I had a strong image of EBARA being known for pumps, but when I learned that they are also involved in land-based aquaculture, my impression of them as a "long-established company" changed. I was also introduced to electroencephalography research, which I hope to apply to my own research at university.
・Manasa Uraguchi
In addition to learning about a variety of businesses, I was impressed by the wide range of aspects of research I heard, including the use of new technologies such as xR in business and systems, as well as the consideration of ways to support people with disabilities who work at EBARA.
・Risa Niikura
I was simply pursuing the research I wanted to do, but for the first time I had the opportunity to interact with people working for a company, and I learned the importance of actually getting people to use my research and of considering intellectual property rights, which broadened my perspective on research.
3. Future developments
EBARA will continue to contribute to the development of the next generation of leaders through social contribution activities related to science and technology.
