CDP received our first “A-” rating in the two fields of “climate change” and “water security”

In the 2024 corporate sustainability survey conducted by CDP*, an international non-profit organization, EBARA Corporation improved its evaluation from “B” last year in the two fields of “climate change” and “water security,” and obtained an “A- (A negative)” rating for the first time.

1. Background

Under the long-term vision “E-Vision 2030” established in 2020, the EBARA Group has set “thorough environmental management” as one of its key issues, and is promoting carbon neutrality and rational water use initiatives. Furthermore, in the basic policy of the medium-term management plan “E-Plan 2025,” “Further evolution of ESG management” is a priority area, and we are promoting reduction of environmental impact through our products and services.

2. Overview

In this 2024 survey conducted by CDP, more than 24,800 companies and more than 1,100 local governments disclosed environmental information through CDP questionnaires, and we obtained an “A-” rating.
The EBARA Group aims to achieve carbon neutrality in the value chain (Scopes 1, 2, 3) in 2050 regarding climate change. In 2030, we have set targets to reduce GHG emissions by 55% (compared to 2018) in Scope 1 and 2 and 25% (compared to 2021) in Scope 3, and we are working to efficiently use energy, utilize renewable energy, and improve product efficiency. Also, with regard to water security, we have made the amount of water used per sales as reasonable as possible, and we have set a target of setting the water usage unit to the previous year's value or less. In our business activities, we are striving to reduce environmental impact by promoting recycling of process water and improving water use processes.

3. Future developments

The EBARA Group aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by tackling important ESG issues based on its long-term vision and medium-term management plan, and aims to further improve corporate value.
