EBARA Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA") has installed a self-contained wastewater recycling toilet system called "Econowa" *1 (hereinafter referred to as "the Equipment") equipped with EBARA pumps at its Fujisawa Plant in Kanagawa Prefecture, and will begin demonstration testing. This equipment does not require a water source or external drainage and can be operated with a 100V power source.
Demonstration testing begins for self-contained wastewater recycling toilet system using EBARA pumps - A toilet system that can reuse wastewater and can be used as usual even in times of disaster -

1. Background and Objectives
EBARA has supported the recovery of disaster-stricken areas through activities such as restoring pumps and other infrastructure equipment, providing donations, and producing a "Manual for Responding to Floods in Homes," which is useful in flood recovery efforts. This initiative is led by the EBARA Rescue, a cross-company project launched in 2021, and aims to promote the use of the equipment in peacetime so that users can use it without feeling stress or risk to their health, even in emergencies such as disasters or water outages. In order to ensure that the system can be used without problems in disaster-stricken areas, the company will install the equipment on its premises and begin verification testing for approximately one year to collect various data, evaluate the system, and identify issues and areas for improvement.
2-1 Overview
(1) Features

② Since flushing water is continuously reused, there is no need for a water source, drainage, or pumping work.
③ It can be operated with a 100V power source.
(2) Verification Contents
① The toilet system can operate stably without being affected by weather or disasters.
② The status of pump equipment, etc. is monitored through the EBARA Maintenance Cloud※4 to ensure efficient maintenance management.
③ Various sensors are used to grasp air and water temperature, frequency of use, water quality, etc., to confirm the most efficient operating conditions for the toilet system.
④ User satisfaction is surveyed and data is obtained for future introduction.
