1. Background

The Energy Conservation Award is a system in which the Energy Conservation Center, Japan, a general incorporated foundation, awards outstanding examples of energy conservation promotion, as well as products and business models with excellent energy conservation, with the aim of contributing to the spread of energy conservation awareness, activities and efforts, and the promotion of energy-saving products.

2. Award Overview

Energy Conservation Center Chairman's Award: "Hydrogen-fired absorption water chiller/heater 'RHDH' series"

■Reason for the award: Currently, hydrogen is mainly used to generate electricity through fuel cells, and there are few facilities and devices that use it directly. However, this product makes it possible to produce hot and cold water for air conditioning by directly "using" hydrogen as a fuel. The annual CO2 emissions during use can be reduced by 95% compared to kerosene and 94% compared to city gas, making this a product that is ready for the future CO2-free hydrogen society.
