EBARA Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA") received an order for the replacement of rainwater drainage pumps at the Hirai Wastewater Center (hereinafter referred to as "this facility") in Okayama City, which is ordered by the Japan Sewage Works Agency, a local joint corporation.

1. Background and Objectives
The plant began operation in 1979, and has been in charge of protecting the region from flooding caused by heavy rains for over 40 years. However, the aging of facilities has become an issue. In response to water disasters that have increased in recent years due to natural disasters and other factors, it is expected that the replacement of equipment that comprises large pumps and pumping systems will ensure the drainage capacity of pumping stations and reduce rainwater damage.

3. Future plans
EBARA has the top track record in Japan for delivering pumps to storm water drainage pumping stations, and is currently carrying out many projects, including new construction as well as renewal and renovation.
