11th EOI Symposium "EBARA's Efforts to Realize Society5.0 and Their Challenges" held

1. Background
Our Ebara Open Laboratory (hereinafter: EOL)*1 has developed Ebara Hi-tech University (hereinafter: EHU)*2 that fosters human resources who support technological development. Since 2018, the European Union has held Ebara Open Innovation (EOI) *3 symposium. The symposium is a forum for the creation of industry-academia collaboration that connects academia and business across technical fields.
2. Overview
The symposium was held under the theme of "EBARA's Efforts to Achieve Society 5.0 and Their Challenges." Professor Shirasaka Successful (Keio University), Associate Professor Wataru Onishi (University of Tokyo), and Director Kazuki Ichirai (Ridge-i Co., Ltd.) were invited to give lectures on cutting-edge research and application cases from the perspectives of system design, mechatronics control, and AI system development.
Meanwhile, researchers at EBARA introduced examples of in-house studies and commercialization.
At the round table discussions, the key words of the discussion were "Society 5.0 and Future Concept for beyond Society 5.0" and "Architecture/Architect," and discussions were held from various perspectives on the issues and solutions for realizing Society 5.0. Approximately 150 people participated from EOL and business divisions.
3. Future developments
EBARA's long-term vision E-Vision2030 calls for contributing to the creation of an evolving and prosperous lifestyle. EBARA's EHU holds lectures and seminars inviting domestic and overseas researchers to strengthen product competitiveness, improve technological capabilities, and create new businesses.
