Ebara Corporation creates and publishes "Residential Flood Preparedness Manual"

EBARA Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as EBARA) has produced and released a "Flood Response Manual for Housing (Outline Version)" to support the early restoration of houses that have suffered flooding damage due to heavy rain disasters in recent years.

Inundation caused by heavy rain disasters can cause damage to a wide range of areas. At recovery sites, NGOs, volunteers, and local residents are often involved, but the reality is that they often rely solely on on-site judgment and the know-how of each organization. As a result, depending on how the work was carried out, there were large differences in the methods, costs, and time required for restoration work, and work that was not actually necessary occurred, making it difficult to carry out restoration work efficiently and increasing confusion and the burden on the victims.

Until now, EBARA has been supporting the restoration of the affected areas through the restoration of infrastructure facilities such as pumps, donations, dispatch of in-house volunteers and fund-raising, and support lunches for the reconstruction of employee cafeterias. In addition, the EBARA Rescue, an in-house cross-sectional project launched in 2021, aims to build a new business model utilizing EBARA's products, technologies, and know-how that can contribute particularly to the recovery from flood damage: ^*. As part of Ebara Rescue's efforts, we have produced a "Flood Response Manual for Homes" (hereinafter referred to as "this Manual") under the supervision of Professor Nakatani of the Faculty of Engineering at Shinshu University, who is a researcher of flood damage to buildings. This manual provides easy-to-understand illustrations that explain the workflow and key points for daily preparations and preparations to make immediately before a disaster strikes, as well as first aid and restoration work after a disaster. In addition, a list of check items for each step has been established to make it easy for local governments, NGOs, volunteers, and local residents to use.

EBARA will continue to distribute the data in this manual and donate the booklets to help the victims efficiently recover their houses.
