Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") has been selected and awarded in the "Excellent Construction Contractor" category of the "FY2024 Kyushu Regional Development Bureau Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Administrative Merit Awards" by the Director-General of the Kyushu Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. This award was in recognition of the Takahashi Drainage Pumping Station Pump Equipment Modification (Phase 3) Project (hereinafter referred to as "this project"), which Ebara completed in fiscal year 2023.

1. Background

Takahashi Pumping Station is a large facility with a drainage capacity of approximately 50 tons per second, but it suffered flooding caused by river flooding due to the heavy rains that occurred in 2019 and 2021. As a result, work to modify the pump equipment to increase drainage capacity was carried out as part of the "Rokkaku River System Emergency Flood Control Measures Project" by the Kyushu Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

2. Overview

Since February 2021, the three pump equipment has been remodeled one per year, and the renovation of all pump equipment has been completed with this project. The total discharge capacity of the pumping station has increased from 50 tons per second to 61 tons per second, making it the largest in Kyushu. This award was given in recognition of the excellent construction quality achieved.

Ebara's long-term vision, "E-Vision 2030," aims to support "an earth-friendly society, social infrastructure that allows people to live safely and securely, and a world where people do not have to worry about water or food," and to "contribute to the creation of a sustainable society."
