EBARA Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA") is informed that it has been certified as an "Eco First Company" by the Ministry of the Environment under the "Eco First System" *1 , which promotes corporate environmental activities.

1. Background
For more than 100 years, EBARA has provided society with outstanding technologies, products, and the best services in the fields of water, air, and the environment. Currently, we aim to achieve sustainable development around the world and a safe, secure, and prosperous society, and our long-term vision, "E-Vision 2030," lists "thorough environmental management" as one of the key issues. The basic policy of E-Plan2025, our medium-term management plan, calls for "further evolution of ESG-based management" as a priority area, and we are working to reduce environmental impact through carbon neutral, in-house products/services.
2. Overview
The Eco-First system was established in 2008, under which companies make a commitment to the Minister of the Environment to take steps to protect the environment, and the Minister of the Environment certifies those companies as engaging in "advanced, original and industry-leading business activities." EBARA announced the following measures for obtaining the certification:

Recover gas and oil from waste plastics and recycle into petrochemical raw materials Construction
• Promote the reuse of wastewater at sites that use large amounts of wastewater, and disclose the amount of reused water on HP

3. Future plans
EBARA will check the progress of the above-mentioned initiatives and publish the results on its website and other media, as well as report them to the Ministry of the Environment. The EBARA Group will address material ESG issues based on its long-term vision and medium-term management plan in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and further increase its corporate value.
