Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") was selected for the "Excellent TCFD Disclosure" selected by the domestic equity management organization of the GPIF (Pension Fund Management Incorporated Administrative Agency) in two categories: "Strategy," "Indicators and Targets."
Selected as one of GPIF's domestic equity investment managers for "Outstanding TCFD Disclosure" (2023)
1. Background
EBARA signed the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Information Disclosure) in May 2019 to promote climate-related information disclosure. After disclosing climate-related information based on the TCFD recommendations in 2021, we conducted face-to-face scenario analyses for each market based on the opinions we received through dialogue with investors and our awareness of issues.
2. Overview
GPIF asked 13 investment managers (hereinafter referred to as "managers") that outsource investment of domestic stocks to select "excellent TCFD disclosure." We asked investment managers to select a maximum of five "excellent TCFD disclosure" companies, and also asked them to select a maximum of three excellent disclosures for each of the four disclosure items (governance, strategy, risk management, indicators and targets).
As a result, 29 companies were selected as "excellent TCFD disclosure." In addition, 59 companies were selected as excellent disclosures in the four items of disclosure, and we were evaluated as having excellent disclosures in the two items of "Strategy" and "Indicators and Targets."
