Support for the 100% Declaration on Male Childcare Leave

Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") has endorsed the "100% Male Parental Leave Declaration" promoted by Work-Life Balance Co., Ltd.

1. Background

EBARA has set "promoting active participation of human resources" as one of the key issues in its long-term vision, "E-Vision 2030." In January 2022, we launched the Diversity Project. In September 2023, we organized the Diversity Equity & Inclusion Promotion Department. This initiative is based on the belief that not only visible differences in gender and nationality but also invisible inclusion, such as experience and job type, is essential for the growth of companies and employees. We have positioned the "rate of male employees taking parental leave" as one of the important indicators for supporting diverse work styles for our employees, and have endorsed the "100% Male Parental Leave Declaration."

2. Overview

The "100% Male Parental Leave Declaration" is an initiative by Work-Life Balance Co., Ltd. calling on representatives of organizations and companies that are working toward achieving 100% male parental leave take-up. The aim is to bring about reform of current practices and amendments to the law by having corporate executives who have set a goal and are taking concrete measures to achieve 100% male parental leave make such declarations and communicate them.

3. Future developments

Ebara has always focused on supporting employees in balancing work and childcare, through initiatives such as telecommuting and childcare leave that can be taken until the employee graduates from elementary school. Going forward, we will continue to create a better environment for supporting employees raising children, regardless of gender, by holding seminars and introducing systems aimed at employees on childcare leave and managers.

The EBARA Group will address key ESG issues based on its long-term vision and medium-term management plan in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and further increase its corporate value.
