Received an order from the Shikoku Regional Development Bureau for pump equipment construction at the Kakinokidani River Drainage Pumping Station
1. Background and Objectives
This area is located on the north bank of the Yoshino River, which flows through Tokushima Prefecture. The pumping station was constructed over 50 years ago to prevent flooding in the area, and has continued to operate since then after additional drainage pumps were installed. However, currently, there are problems with rivers flooding due to heavy rain and deterioration of facilities, which are thought to be the effects of recent climate change, and there are hopes for improved reliability and more efficient maintenance. With this upgrade, the station will continue to operate as a facility that contributes to preventing flooding in the area.
2. Overview
The current construction work is scheduled to be as follows: Once operational, the two new pumps will be able to remove 480 tonnes of water per minute. This is enough to empty a standard 25m pool in approximately 75 seconds.
