Hokkaido Sapporo City Teina Relay Pump Station Received an order for construction of a pump facility

EBARA Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA") has received an order from the City of Sapporo for construction work to expand pump equipment at the Teine Relay Pump Station (hereinafter referred to as "this station").

1. Background and Objectives

This area was originally a low-lying marshland, and the distance from the river's source to its mouth is short and the gradient is relatively steep. Until about 50 years ago, large amounts of water would flow into the city during heavy rainfall. Since then, the construction of artificial rivers and sewage treatment plants has progressed, and no major damage has occurred. However, the number of water disasters caused by heavy rains, which are believed to be affected by recent climate change, has increased. The station, which was constructed in 1974, will continue to contribute to preventing flooding and inundation caused by heavy rain by installing additional pump equipment.

2. Overview

The current construction work is scheduled to be as follows: With this latest addition, the plant now has a total of five pumps.
