Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") has donated approximately 55,000 copies of the booklet "Unko Drill: How Pumps Work" (hereinafter referred to as "this booklet") to 454 public elementary schools across the country as part of an initiative to help children learn in a fun way about the role of pumps that support our daily lives.

1. Background and Objectives

This booklet was produced in collaboration between Ebara and Bunkyosha Publishing Co., Ltd.'s "Unko Awareness Drill" series, which has sold over 7.5 million copies in the three years since the project began. Pumps play an important role in various industries that build the safe and secure social infrastructure that supports our daily lives, yet they are rarely seen. Ebara hopes that this initiative will provide an opportunity for children to have fun learning about products and technologies that are useful in daily life, to learn about how society works, and to think about the future.

2-1 Overview

These donations were made in response to requests from each elementary school approximately two months after production was completed. In the booklet, Unko Neko, who is in a difficult situation, learns about pumps through advice from Unko Sensei and Unko Dog. We hope that this booklet will be a valuable addition to children's time spent with their teachers and friends in elementary school classes, and when they take it home and talk with their parents.
