Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") has received an order from the Hokkaido Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to carry out construction work to renew pump equipment at the Jangtongnai Drainage Pumping Station (hereinafter referred to as "this station").
Received an order for pump equipment construction for the Joshinai Drainage Pumping Station in Hokkaido
1. Background and Objectives
This area is located in the Tokachi region of Hokkaido, and is a region where field crops such as wheat, beans, and cabbage are thriving. The existing drainage facilities were constructed approximately 40 years ago and have deteriorated. In addition, heavy rains that are thought to be the result of climate change in recent years have caused rivers to overflow, and land subsidence caused by peat soil has led to flooding damage to farmland. The capacity of the new facility will be approximately 1.5 times larger than before, and will continue to contribute to preventing flood damage in the area.
