Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") has produced a booklet and an online game app together with Bunkyosha Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "Bunkyosha"), the publisher of the book "Unko Drill"*, to help children learn in a fun way about the role of pumps that support our daily lives.

1. Background and Objectives

Our lives are supported by a safe and secure social infrastructure and are surrounded by technologies and products that make our lives convenient and prosperous. Pumps play an important role in the various industries that make up this society, yet they are rarely seen. Ebara hopes that this initiative will provide an opportunity for children to have fun learning about products and technologies that are useful in daily life, to learn about how society works, and to think about the future.

2-1 Overview

In "Unko Drill: How Pumps Work," a booklet introducing pumps that support convenient and comfortable living in various places, Unko Neko, who is in a difficult situation, learns new knowledge through advice from Unko Sensei and Unko Inu. In addition, the online game app "The Function of Pumps" introduces trivia about pumps in the form of a quiz, helping people understand their role. ■ Booklet "Ebara Corporation x Poop Drill: The Function of Pumps"

3. Future developments

Some of the booklets will be donated to elementary schools around the country, and they will also be distributed at children's events.

*Unko Drill: This is a learning drill that uses the magic word "unko" (poop) as a keyword to lower the barrier to learning and allow children to learn while having fun. Bunkyosha has been publishing the series since 2017, and in 2019 they launched the online platform "Unko Gakuen." Currently, we are collaborating with various companies, government agencies, and local governments to develop awareness drills, booklets, web apps, videos, and more on a variety of topics.
