Izu E Service Co., Ltd., a special purpose company wholly owned by Ebara Environmental Plant Co., Ltd., a group company of Ebara Corporation, sponsored an event to release sweetfish juveniles into the Kano River, organized by the Kano River Fisheries Cooperative Association in Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The Kano River flows right next to the Clean Center Izu, a waste treatment facility that began operations in January of this year. On June 29th, the day of the event, students from Shuzenji Minami Elementary School in the city who were on a social studies field trip to the facility released 4,000 sweetfish juveniles.
