EBARA Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA") has delivered four large drainage pumps to Kongo Drainage Pumping Station (hereinafter referred to as "this station") with the aim of improving its drainage capacity. The newly installed pump will replace the existing pump, which has been working to prevent flooding in the area for approximately 40 years, and will contribute to the local community as equipment that supports daily life and industry.
Four large-scale drainage pumps were delivered to the Kumgang Drainage Station (Kumamoto Prefecture).

1. Background and Objectives
This facility is located at the mouth of the Kuma River, which is said to be one of the three most rapid rivers in Japan, and is unique in that it is located at 0m above sea level. The old station, which had been working to prevent flooding in the region since 1981, will be decommissioned following the renewal of its pump equipment, and the new station will continue to operate as a facility for disaster prevention and mitigation.
2. Overview
When all the newly delivered pumps are in operation, they will have a displacement capacity of 11 tonnes per second.
