Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") supports the purpose of the "Science Castle Research Fund," a research grant program for junior and senior high school students run by Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Leave a Nest"), and in 2020 established the "Ebara Corporation Award" to support junior and senior high school students who are dedicated to research. This time, an in-house presentation was held to report on the results of the research conducted in fiscal year 2022.

1. Background and Objectives

Ebara publicly solicited research projects on the theme of "Research to create the future using 'flow'" and selected four teams. The aim of this event was to encourage future researchers to take their first steps through research into using "flow" to solve social issues. In addition to providing research funding, employees of Ebara and Leave a Nest provided various forms of support to each team over the course of about nine months, including advice on how to conduct research and how to create experimental equipment, and help with presentation practice.

2-1 Overview

The research presentation was held at our Fujisawa office and was attended by approximately 100 people, including employees who listened online. Ebara employees asked the students questions and offered advice for their future research, making for a lively presentation. The students also toured an automated dry vacuum pump factory and experienced solution tools that utilize xR (virtual and augmented reality) technology.
