Received an order for pump equipment construction at the Kumamoto Prefecture Hikawa Drainage Station (Ryuhoku district)

EBARA Corporation (hereafter: EBARA) has received an order from Kumamoto Prefecture to construct a new pump facility at the Hikawa Drainage Station (hereafter: this airport).

1. Background

In this region, which is located in central Kumamoto prefecture, agricultural management is being developed with specialties such as citrus fruits, glutinous rice, and Japanese herbs. Since it is a flat area, once it rains, a lot of water flows into the drainage channel, and since there is a characteristic that water easily overflows on farmland, roads, and residential land, drainage stations play a major role not only in agriculture but also in protecting residents. Due to the aging of the old Hikawa drainage station that has been in operation until now, this airport will be built nearby.

2. Overview

In this construction, 4 large pumps will be installed at a new airport to replace the old Hikawa Drainage Station, about 40 years after construction.

The pump has a total displacement of 1560 m 3 per minute, and has the capacity to fill a standard 25m pool of water*1 in about 23 seconds.
