EBARA Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA") has received the "Excellent Construction Award" from the Director-General of the Tohoku Regional Agricultural Administration Office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. This award recognizes EBARA's work on the "Tsugaru Northern Second Phase Agricultural Irrigation Project Ashino Pumping Station Pump Equipment Renovation Project (hereinafter referred to as "this project")" which was completed in Aomori Prefecture in fiscal 2021.

1. Background

Ashino Pumping Station (hereinafter referred to as "this station") is a pumping facility to which EBARA delivered pump equipment in March 1995. For about 24 years since it began operation, it has played an important role in supplying agricultural water to the northern Tsugaru region, where rice is the main crop. In recent years, there have been concerns about a decline in pumping capacity due to the deterioration of pump equipment over time, so renovation work on this facility began in September 2019 and was completed in September 2021.

2. Overview

In this project, the main pump and main pump valves were serviced at the factory, and the main pump motor and the high-voltage power distribution equipment in the pumping station were also updated. The project was evaluated for reflecting the requests of customers who manage operations, for carrying out construction work during the limited period of the non-irrigation season, and for promoting the provision of two days off per week in the construction industry.
