Kinki Regional Development Bureau received an order for pump equipment repair work at Kema drainage airport
1. Background
This airport is located on the Okawa River, which flows from the first-class river Yodogawa, which is relatively close to Osaka Bay. It was built about 40 years ago for the purpose of preventing flooding in regions during storm surges and preventing flooding in river basins due to heavy rain, and has continued to protect the area centered around the urban area of Osaka city in the surrounding watershed. However, in recent years, there has been a decline in the function of the equipment due to aging, and repair work on drainage pumps is progressing sequentially. A total of 6 large sump pumps are installed at
this airport. It is one of the largest drainage stations in Japan, with all pumps having a caliber of 4000 mm, and has the capacity to discharge 330 tons of water per second when all units are in operation. This time, we will be carrying out renovation work on 1 out of 6 cars.
2. Overview
The current pump equipment repair work is scheduled as follows. By disassembling and diagnosing the pump, it is possible to maintain the drainage function of this station and reduce equipment maintenance costs.
