Awarded contract for Klong Prem Tunnel drainage project in Thailand

1. Background
The lower Chao Phraya River basin, including Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is chronically plagued by flooding during the rainy season. The large-scale floods that occurred in 2011 are said to have caused economic losses of more than 4 trillion yen, and as a flood control plan, Bangkok has been developing spillways.
2-1 Overview
The Kronprem Tunnel Drainage Project is the third large-scale drainage tunnel to be constructed since 2005. We received an order based on our track record of large-scale pumping equipment at more than 1,000 drainage stations in Japan and the products we delivered in Bangkok. A total of four aircraft fields have been constructed and ordered for this project, and of the five plants in total, ETL will be delivered to the first plant "Makkasan Drainage Plant", the fourth "Nongbong Drainage Plant", and three other sites, including this project. It is scheduled to be completed in fiscal 2025.
