Happy New Year.
Last year was a year in which our lives were greatly affected by sudden changes in the international situation, such as rising resource prices and exchange rate fluctuations, as well as natural disasters. The COVID-19 pandemic remains a situation that cannot be ignored. In the midst of all this, we have been able to continue fulfilling EBARA's mission of supporting society and industry at our sites both in Japan and around the world, thanks to the efforts of many people, including our employees, their families who support them, our customers, business partners, and suppliers. Thank you very much.
Last year was the final year of our first medium-term management plan, "E-Plan 2022," which aims to achieve the Ebara Group's vision for the future set out in our long-term vision, "E-Vision 2030." Despite the extremely challenging circumstances, including difficulty in obtaining parts and rising prices, as well as travel restrictions, a rapid depreciation of the yen, and rising inflation rates, we were able to steadily advance the measures set out in E-Plan 2022. As we announced the other day, we expect orders received, sales revenue, and operating profit to exceed those of fiscal 2021.
This year marks the first year of "E-Plan 2025," the second mid-term management plan toward E-Vision 2030. Our theme for the next three years will be to adopt a market-in perspective and strengthen our approach based on what our customers want. To achieve this goal, starting this year we have changed our business structure to a face-to-face market-based segment. We believe that by strengthening our competitiveness through the development and provision of products and services that our customers truly want, we can continuously contribute to society. We will also continue our new business initiatives with an eye to the future.
A new year has begun.
The eighth wave of infections continues in Japan. In order to achieve EBARA's vision and goals, we need all employees to demonstrate their strengths in their respective jobs. Let's take preventive measures to protect ourselves and our loved ones and continue to support society and industry.
