EBARA Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA") and its group company EBARA Refrigeration & Cooling Systems Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA Refrigeration & Cooling Systems") have received an order for a non-freon, highly efficient turbo chiller (hereinafter referred to as "this product") from the Tsuruga Plant of Toyobo Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Toyobo Tsuruga Plant") in Fukui Prefecture.
TOYO Awarded Contract for CFC-Free High Efficiency Turbo Chiller
1. Background and Objectives
The Toyobo Tsuruga Plant is a core facility with functions ranging from R&D to production. In order to support employees in their respective jobs in a large facility, EBARA has been using large turbo chillers for air conditioning systems and manufacturing process cooling for some time. This order will be adopted with a view to becoming carbon neutral when replacing existing products. This will bring the total number of centrifugal chillers delivered to Toyobo by the EBARA Group to six.
2. Overview
Chillers play an important role as a heat source in the equipment that makes up an air conditioning system. This product is a non-chlorofluorocarbon refrigeration unit employing the new low GWP refrigerant AMOLEA®1224yd*1. It was recognized for its ability to reduce running costs through high-efficiency operation, contributing to an annual CO2 emissions reduction of approximately 23% compared to conventional machines.

3. Future developments
EBARA Cooling Systems, which develops and manufactures turbo chillers, delivers a number of turbo chillers for factories, commercial facilities and regional heating and cooling. We provide annual maintenance, overhaul, remote monitoring, and other after-sales services to ensure that customers can use our products comfortably for a long time after delivery. EBARA Group will support the strengthening of social infrastructure through research and development of carbon neutral technologies such as water, air, and thermal energy.
By addressing key ESG issues based on its long-term vision and medium-term management plan, the EBARA Group aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and further improve its corporate value.
