Ebara Environmental Plant's collaborative project on electricity supply and demand selected for FY2022 budget "Subsidy for promoting the introduction of consumer-led solar power generation"

The non-FIT renewable energy power supply business conducted by Ebara Environmental Plant Co., Ltd. (President: Takahisa Miyoshi, Headquarters: Ota-ku, Tokyo), a group company of Ebara Corporation, in cooperation with Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation as a retail electricity supplier, has been selected for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's FY2022 budget "Subsidy for Promoting the Introduction of Consumer-Led Solar Power Generation."

Ebara Environmental Plant produces and consumes waste-derived electricity locally and supplies electricity to Ebara Group companies. The adoption of this project marks the first time that Ebara Environmental Plant has undertaken a collaborative model involving power generation companies, wholesale power companies, retail power companies and consumers, utilizing subsidies.

Ebara Corporation is participating in this project as a consumer. For our group, this business will help us secure a stable supply of renewable energy and contribute to our goal of achieving carbon neutrality. The resulting reduction in greenhouse gas emissions is equivalent to approximately 5,700 tons per year, calculated as a national average coefficient of 0.433 kg-CO2/kWh.

* Non-FIT renewable energy power supply business: Utilization of renewable energy power without relying on the Feed-in Tariff Scheme for Renewable Energy (FIT Law)
