Joined the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Metaverse Engineering Gold Membership


EBARA Corporation (Headquarters: Ota-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Masao Asami) (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA") has become a Gold Member of the University of Tokyo's Metaverse Engineering Department.

1. Background

We are working on the use of the metaverse to promote data-driven strategy formulation and decision-making while promoting the active participation of diverse human resources. With a view to breaking away from existing business models and considering and introducing new ways of working, we aim to promote management and human resources using the metaverse. In July 2022, we launched the Data Strategy Team and the Diversity Project. We promote task diversity from a data-driven perspective that emphasizes not only visible information such as nationality, age, and gender, but also invisible information such as majors and experience.

2-1 Overview

In the VUCA era, the multifaceted human resources, the speed of decision-making, and the application of digital technology in business are becoming particularly important, and there is an urgent need to acquire human resources with these skills. In addition, there is an urgent need to resskill our employees to be able to respond to the rapidly changing business environment.

By becoming a Gold member of the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Metaverse Engineering, we will launch a system that allows employees to take AI reskilling courses. As part of our efforts to strengthen human capital management, we will promote the transformation of the internal business environment and further promote task diversity.

3. Future developments

In order to realize our goal of data-driven diversity, we will work to promote "Metaversity*" using the metaverse by combining the philosophy of the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Metaverse Engineering with our people analytics technology.
