Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") formed a VR solutions partnership*1 with HP Japan Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "HP Japan") in October 2022 to build a human resources development model using VR technology and the metaverse as a means of contributing to data-driven strategy formulation and decision-making.
Using HP's VR head-mounted display to develop people analytics
1. Background
In our long-term vision, "E-Vision 2030," we aim to promote the active participation of our human resources and to further speed up and improve the quality of our management. To achieve this, it is essential to create an organization filled with people who can bring about change by fostering a "corporate culture of competition and challenge" and thinking and acting independently to improve corporate value. The Data Strategy Team, which reports directly to the president, is working to visualize the qualities and aptitudes of employees and enable more efficient and effective human resource planning and allocation.
2-1 Overview
In July 2022, we launched our Data Strategy Team to promote data-driven decision-making. In addition, in September 2022, we introduced the Metaverse in collaboration with the Diversity Project.
In the Metaverse, we will work on Metaversity*2, which emphasizes invisible diversity such as expertise and knowledge, rather than visible differences such as gender, nationality, and age. Through avatar meetings that eliminate visible preconceptions and other activities, we will work to build a human resource development model by combining not only information obtained directly from the virtual space, but also biometric information obtained from advanced and cutting-edge VR devices and our proprietary people analytics.
3. Future developments
In the future, we will use HP's VR devices to collect and analyze biometric information through avatar conferences, etc. By combining existing people analytics, we aim to build a new human resources development model and personal digital twin on the metaverse. Measuring biosignals can make consumers' unconscious psychology and behavior visible, and is expected to be applied to quantitative evaluations. We plan to develop this technology into business development in the field of neuromarketing. We will develop a space where people with diverse skills and experience can organically connect with each other in the metaverse and accelerate innovation.
