EBARA Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA") has been recognized by the Director-General of the Aichi Prefectural Enterprise Bureau in the "Excellent Construction Contractor" category for 2022. This award recognizes EBARA's "Chita Water Purification Plant Water Pump Equipment Renewal Project," which was completed in January 2022.

1. Background

After the completion of the Aichi Irrigation Canal, which supplies water for agriculture, industry, and drinking water mainly to the Chita Peninsula in Aichi Prefecture, the region saw remarkable economic growth and population growth due to regional development. At the same time, rising living standards have led to increased demand for water for agricultural, industrial and drinking water, creating a need for a stable water supply. The Chita Water Purification Plant is responsible for delivering water for industrial and municipal use, supporting the lives and industries of the local community.

2. Overview

EBARA solves a wide range of water supply and sewerage problems through comprehensive engineering, including proposals, designs, procurement, mechanical equipment construction, and after-sales service for pumping equipment that transports water. In this project, we carried out the renewal work including the system design, manufacture and installation of the pump equipment that delivers aging water for the waterworks.

3. Future developments

EBARA's long-term vision, "E-Vision 2030," aims to support "an earth-friendly society, social infrastructure where people can live safely and securely, and a world where people do not have to worry about water or food," and to "contribute to the creation of a sustainable society." EBARA's social systems business will support the strengthening of social infrastructure through the development of pumps with improved drainage capacity and the provision of easily maintained equipment and services.
