EBARA Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA") made an additional investment of 300 million yen in Series B rounds of Regional Fish Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "RF"), through a third-party allotment.

1. Background

Since 2020,

we have been working with RF to develop systems for labor-saving and automation of land aquaculture that utilize the fluid and heat control technologies we have cultivated since our founding. In 2021, in recognition of our collaborative efforts in Kyoto, our RF development base, we received the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award 2021 from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Fourth Japan Open Innovation Award, and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award together with RF and related organizations.
RF has completed reporting to the ministries and agencies on improved edible part expanded sea bream and high-growth trough puffer with genome editing technology. We will strengthen collaboration for further growth through additional investment in RF:

2. Future Developments

With the funds procured this time,

RF will accelerate the development of a mass production system for marine products, and research and development related to the improvement of varieties and the smartization of aquaculture, with the aim of reinforcing the production system for marine products.
We will work in collaboration with RF to quickly establish a land aquaculture system that can stably supply delicious fish with low environmental impact, mainly in the field of smart aquaculture. Then, we will work to solve the five materialities (key issues) set forth in our long-term vision "E-Vision2030" and contribute to the realization of a sustainable "water- and food-free world".

EBARA Group aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and further enhance its corporate value by addressing key ESG issues based on its long-term vision and medium-term management plan.
