1. Background
The EBARA Group has set "promoting active participation of human resources" as one of the important issues in its long-term vision, "E-Vision 2030." Our goal is to become a corporate group where diverse talent can thrive, find their work rewarding and comfortable. In order to create a work environment where each employee can utilize their individuality and maximize their abilities, regardless of gender or nationality, we are promoting diversity from three perspectives: "reforming awareness and culture," "improving systems and the environment," and "reforming operations and making operations visible."
Regarding the promotion of women's participation in the workforce, EBARA faces the issue of a low ratio of women among new recruits and core employees (employees equivalent to managerial positions). In light of this, we are working to introduce diverse recruitment methods and provide career development support.
2-1 Overview
The WEPs are a set of action principles jointly created by the United Nations Global Compact and UN Women in 2010 to proactively promote women's participation in the workforce, and are comprised of the following seven principles:
1. Promoting gender equality through leadership at the top
2. Equal opportunity, inclusion and non-discrimination
3. Health, safety and non-violence
4. Education and training
5. Business development, supply chain and marketing activities
6. Community leadership and engagement
7. Transparency, measurement and reporting
3. Future developments
Ebara launched a diversity project directly under the president in January 2022 to further advance its efforts toward diversity and inclusion. We will use this opportunity to further strengthen our efforts to promote women's participation in the workforce and improve diversity and inclusion throughout the entire group.
EBARA Group aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and further enhance its corporate value by addressing key ESG issues based on its long-term vision and medium-term management plan.
