Joined the Off-Grid Water Alliance

EBARA Pumps Europe S.p.A., an overseas group company of EBARA Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA"). EPE has joined the Off-Grid Water Alliance (OGWA), which addresses water access challenges in rural and impoverished areas around the world.

1. Background

According to UN statistics, 2.2 billion people in the world do not have access to safe drinking water, and 785 million of them do not have access to basic water supplies*. Since our founding, we have contributed to solving social issues. As the EBARA Group, EPE will continue to contribute to addressing the world's water issues.

2-1 Overview

EPE endorsed and participated in OGWA's activities to achieve a sustainable society in which Goal 6 (clean water and sanitation) and Goal 7 (Affordable and clean energy) of the SDGs are realized. Launched on December 1, 2021, OGWA's mission is to bring together companies to solve water problems in areas of the planet that do not have social infrastructure such as water and electricity.

3. Future developments

Water is essential for health, agriculture, ecosystems, and education, and access to clean water is directly linked to people's safe and secure lives. We believe that such activities to solve the world's water problems are issues that we should address as an excellent global company, as they will lead to an increase in corporate value and the significance of our existence. Going forward, the EBARA Group will continue to contribute to the realization of a society in which people do not have problems with water and food, as set forth in its long-term vision "E-Vision 2030," with the aim of delivering water to 600 million people around the world.

EBARA Group aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and further enhance its corporate value by addressing key ESG issues based on its long-term vision and medium-term management plan.
