Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") has launched an alumni community in 2021 to build a network with former employees who have left the company, as part of "promoting the active participation of human resources," a key issue in the company's long-term vision "E-Vision 2030."
Establishing an alumni community
1. Background
The word "alumni" is used mainly in Europe and the United States, where employment mobility is high, to refer to people who have left or retired from a company. In Japan, too, in recent years, as employment has become more fluid, an increasing number of companies are working on "alumni relations" aimed at building relationships with former employees.
In light of this trend, we will build access to a diverse talent pool to achieve sustainable growth in the global market by connecting information and people from recruitment to employment and after retirement.
2-1 Overview
Starting in 2021, we have introduced a cloud-based SNS system (Official-Alumni.com) specifically designed for interaction with alumni. We plan to provide internal news and career recruitment information through this SNS. The purpose of this alumni system is not just to re-employ former employees in the short term, but also to continue the relationship with former employees in the medium to long term, with the aim of changing the company's approach to human resource development and the very nature of corporate activities, such as business collaboration.
3. Future developments
In the future, we hope to utilize our network with former employees to promote collaboration and open innovation. We will also use the feedback from former employees to provide feedback on organizational issues, aiming to create an organization where current employees can also feel motivated to work.
