Ebara Corporation (hereinafter "Ebara") has acquired J-KISS type stock acquisition rights*1 issued by Sakana Farm Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Sakanafarm") and has entered into a business alliance agreement. We will collaborate to build an industry-wide platform to commercialize and popularize the land-based aquaculture business using the land-based aquaculture system we are developing.

1. Background

Sakana Farm is a platform company that aims to develop the aquaculture industry. We provide consulting services for issues in each process from production to processing and sales, production management using SaaS*2, business support for improving productivity and profitability by developing sales channels through media EC, and a land-based aquaculture ecosystem that packages these support services.

2-1 Overview

In order to commercialize land-based aquaculture, we are developing production equipment related to labor saving and automation, utilizing the fluid and thermal control technologies that Ebara has cultivated since its founding. Through our collaboration with Sakana Farm, we will utilize the company's knowledge of branding and marketing of farmed fish to build a platform for the development of the land-based aquaculture industry.

3. Future developments

In the future, we plan to dispatch our employees to Sakana Farm to understand customer needs and develop market-oriented products. In addition, by dispatching employees to the company, we are also considering developing human resources who can generate innovative business ideas and lead new businesses.
In our long-term vision "E-Vision 2030," we aim to contribute to "a sustainable and earth-friendly society" and "a world without water and food shortages." By utilizing our technology and knowledge of fish farms, we will commercialize land-based aquaculture systems that have a low environmental impact, are safe and secure, and can supply stable quality and quantity.

By addressing key ESG issues based on our long-term vision and medium-term management plan, the EBARA Group aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and further increase its corporate value.
