Hefei Ebara Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. (Head office: Anhui Province, China; hereafter referred to as HEPM), an overseas group company of Ebara Corporation (hereafter referred to as Ebara), completed construction of an overhaul factory and held an opening ceremony on July 8th. A total of 50 people attended the ceremony, including representatives of the Hefei Municipal Government and other related parties within and outside the company. Also, Tetsuji Togawa, Executive Officer and President of the Precision Machinery Company, participated online from Japan and delivered a congratulatory speech.

1. Overview of the overhaul factory

In recent years, development has been progressing in Hefei, with the aim of becoming one of China's leading semiconductor industry clusters, following in the footsteps of Shenzhen and Shanghai. HEPM was established in December 2018 as a base for the precision and electronics business, and its main business is service and support for dry vacuum pumps. The main factory, which is expected to start operation in July 2021, will also house an office and aim to improve customer satisfaction through comprehensive service and support.

3. Future developments

Against the backdrop of growing global demand in the semiconductor market, the EBARA Group began operating a dry vacuum pump overhaul factory in Dresden, Germany in April of this year, and is also working to expand production capacity through automation at its Fujisawa Plant in Kanagawa Prefecture, where dry vacuum pumps are manufactured. We will continue to contribute to the realization of the evolving, advanced lifestyles outlined in "E-Vision 2030."
