Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Ebara) received an order to update existing pumps for Jordan's "Zai Water Supply System Improvement Project," and attended the signing ceremony with the Jordanian ambassador on June 15th.

1. Project Background

The Zay Water Supply System is one of the main water sources that provides approximately 70% of the water supply in Amman Governorate, where nearly half of Jordan's population lives. More than 30 years have passed since the current facility was constructed, and the equipment is aging and its functionality is declining. In addition, a more efficient and stable water supply is required in an environment with an elevation difference of approximately 1,260 meters from the Jordan Valley, the water source of the Zai Water Supply System, to Amman Governorate.
This project is being carried out under a grant agreement between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Jordan for the "Zai Water Supply System Improvement Project."
