We are pleased to announce Ebara Corporation's (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") hiring plans for fiscal year 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has been ongoing since last year, the entire recruitment process, including information sessions for individual universities and interviews, will be conducted online, both domestically and overseas.
Recruitment Plan for 2022
1. Background
Since 2017, we have transitioned our employee personnel system to a ranking system that evaluates employees based on their roles and duties, rather than on ability, which tends to be based on seniority. In order to recruit new graduates and increase our competitiveness, we are conducting job-specific recruitment for new recruits from fiscal 2021 onwards.
2-1 Overview
Previously, the assignment of new graduates was determined based on their suitability after joining the company, but starting with the 2021 new graduate recruitment, this has been changed to a job-specific recruitment system in which students choose their course (job type, business they will be involved in) at the application stage. By choosing your own work, you can put what you learned as a student to good use and take on the type of work you want to challenge yourself with. By having employees proactively think about designing their career paths from an early stage, we aim to create an environment where each individual can maximize their abilities.
In addition, in order to achieve employee diversity and inclusion, we are proactively hiring foreign employees and mid-career hires. Overseas universities are actively recruiting in countries such as China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and India. Starting in 2020, we have implemented an October start date for students who have graduated from universities overseas and Japanese students who have studied abroad. By implementing recruitment regardless of the time of joining, we are also working to improve our competitiveness in recruiting globally.

3. Future developments
In our long-term vision, "E-Vision 2030," we aim to promote the active participation of our human resources, and in order to realize a "corporate culture that competes and takes on challenges," we are creating an environment in which diverse employees can thrive, feeling motivated and comfortable in their work. Going forward, we will further address issues related to a truly merit-based personnel system (promotion, evaluation, and treatment) and flexible working styles that are not bound by location or time constraints, thereby enhancing our corporate competitiveness in the global market. By addressing key ESG issues based on our long-term vision and medium-term management plan, the EBARA Group aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and further increase our corporate value.
