Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") supports the purpose of the "Science Castle Research Fund," a research grant program for junior and senior high school students run by Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Leave a Nest"), and established the "Ebara Corporation Award" in 2020 to support junior and senior high school students who are dedicated to research. We recently held a research presentation to report the results of our research.

1. Background and Objectives

Ebara publicly solicited research projects on the theme of "Research to create the future using 'flow'" and selected four teams. The aim of this event was to encourage future researchers to take their first steps through research into using "flow" to solve social issues. In addition to providing research funding, each team's research received various forms of support from employees of Ebara and Leave a Nest, including advice on research, ingenuity in the creation of experimental equipment, and presentation practice.

2. Overview

The four selected teams have been conducting research on the themes shown in the table for approximately six months since August 2020. Each team presented the results of their research, with encouraging results indicating that they plan to continue their research into next year and beyond. In addition, Ebara employees who attended the event offered advice on the research and engaged in lively Q&A sessions with the students, making for a lively online presentation.
