Ebara Corporation (hereinafter: Ebara) has established the "Ebara Corporation Award" in support of the philosophy of "Science Castle 2020" held by Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. (hereinafter: Leave a Nest ※1), which aims to support the research activities and science education of junior and senior high school students who will lead the next generation and to develop science and technology.
1. Background and Objectives
Science Castle began in 2012 as an academic society for junior and senior high school students who wish to take on the challenge of research and development through Leave a Nest. Through this research, we aim to give children the motivation to take the first step. The Ebara Corporation Award is being implemented in the hope that it will inspire future researchers to start their own research and drive the development of science and technology.
2-1 Overview
Ebara operates five business segments※2, and the products and technologies that each business provides are deeply related to various "fluids," such as water, air, heat, and gas. For this reason, with this year's Ebara Corporation Award, we wanted to support junior and senior high school students who are creating a new future through research into "flow." In addition to providing research funding to selected teams, Ebara researchers will work with Leave a Nest staff to support the researchers in each team as advisors and work together with them on their research activities.
(1) Target audience: Junior high school students, high school students, and college students (3rd year or below) conducting research activities. (2) Purpose of use: Expenses required for research and development (costs of materials, parts, etc., equipment, transportation, etc.). (excluding food and drink)
