Awarded by Sapporo City's Sewerage River Bureau for "Superior Safety Management Contractor and Superior Designer" in 2019

EBARA Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as EBARA) was selected and awarded by the Sapporo Municipal Sewerage River Bureau as an excellent contractor for the fifth consecutive year in the "2019 Superior Construction Safety Management Contractor and Superior Engineering Contractor." The sixth round of selection is:
1. Background
Sewage treatment plants are an essential infrastructure for the safety and comfort of residents. EBARA solves the problems faced by sewage systems through comprehensive engineering of proposals, design, procurement, mechanical equipment construction, and after-sales service of equipment such as pumps and blowers.
2. Overview
This selection and award was based on the fact that it achieved excellent construction results as a treatment facility construction department during construction ordered by the Sapporo City Sewerage and River Bureau completed by EBARA in fiscal 2019. The current construction involved dismantling and maintenance of existing vertical shaft pumps at multiple sewage treatment plants locally. Compared to when the pump was transported from the site and maintenance was carried out at EBARA's Futtsu Plant (Chiba Prefecture), construction was completed safely by realizing the following.
- Shortening construction period
- Avoiding accidents and disaster risks during equipment transportation
- cost reduction such as transportation

3. Future developments
EBARA's long-term vision, "E-Vision 2030," aims to support "an earth-friendly society, social infrastructure where people can live safely and securely, and a world where people do not have to worry about water or food," and to "contribute to the creation of a sustainable society." Many domestic infrastructure facilities, including sewage systems, have been in place for more than 40 years. EBARA is supporting the resilience of social infrastructures by proposing technology for upgrading facilities and extending their lives for aging facilities. For flooding and river flooding caused by typhoons, we will continue to propose pumps with improved drainage capacity and highly reliable equipment that can start up reliably.
The EBARA Group aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by addressing key ESG issues based on its long-term vision and medium-term management plan, and to further improve its corporate value.
