Notice regarding capital and business alliance with Regional Fish Co., Ltd.

Ebara Corporation (hereinafter: Ebara) has signed a capital and business alliance with Regional Fish Co., Ltd. (hereinafter: RF) by underwriting a third-party allotment of new shares.
1. Background
Under the slogan "Supporting the world with technology and passion," EBARA aims to contribute to a sustainable society by capturing the needs of society globally from a market-in perspective and providing solutions that utilize our technology in accordance with our medium-term management plan, E-Plan 2022. In addition, we launched a dedicated organization in 2018 and are actively working to create new businesses while also forging technical partnerships with external venture companies. To achieve this, we aim to foster a "corporate culture of competition and challenge" through the creation of new businesses by recruiting the necessary project members through internal recruitment and other means.
2. Overview of Regional Fish
RF is a food tech startup established with seafood breeding technology seeds from Kyoto University, Kinki University and other universities at its core. Through open innovation, we are creating a next-generation aquaculture system that combines seafood breeding technology (high speed) with smart aquaculture (aquaculture automation), aiming to "eliminate the world's protein shortage (SDG 2: Zero Hunger)," "revitalize Japan's fishing industry and revitalize local communities (SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth)," and "prevent marine pollution (SDG 14: Protect the abundance of the oceans and seas)."
We support RF's efforts to solve environmental issues, which led to this capital and business alliance.
3. Our Aims and Future Developments
EBARA has launched a land-based aquaculture business promotion project in response to the growing global demand for marine resources and the problem of water pollution caused by conventional marine aquaculture due to the expansion of the aquaculture business. Aiming to realize aquaculture systems that place less of a burden on the global environment, are safe and secure without the risk of pathogens being introduced, and can supply stable quality and quantity, EBARA will continue to develop labor-saving and automated land-based aquaculture systems, utilizing the fluid and thermal control technologies that it has cultivated since its founding.
EBARA Group aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and further enhance its corporate value by addressing key ESG issues based on its long-term vision and medium-term management plan.
