Kumamoto Office's employee cafeteria receives "4th Healthy Meals and Food Environment" certification

1. Background
The "Healthy Meals and Food Environment Certification System" is a system that inspects and certifies restaurants and establishments that continually provide "healthy meals (smart meals)" in healthy spaces (environments that provide nutritional information and take measures to prevent passive smoking, etc.) for eating out, ready-made meals, and company lunches. The inspection and certification is carried out by the "Healthy Meals and Food Environment" Consortium, which is made up of 13 academic societies including the Japanese Society of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Japanese Society of Hypertension, and the Japan Diabetes Society. Based on the CSR policy of "creating a safe, secure and comfortable workplace," EBARA is working to create and maintain a workplace environment that is conscious of safety and health, including the realization of work-life balance and the promotion of mental health, and one of the measures taken in this regard, the company's efforts in the employee cafeteria, was recognized.
2-1 Overview
In the cafeterias at each of our company's offices, we offer programs throughout the year that allow employees to have fun while improving their health and preventing and improving lifestyle-related diseases.
[Employee cafeteria initiatives] (1) Measures to improve eating habits
- Set a lunch theme for each day of the week to provide healthy meals
- To cut down on fat, remove mayonnaise from the condiment corner and replace it with oil-free dressing
- To reduce salt, reduce the salt content of miso soup by 20% and replace soy sauce and salt with low-salt products
(2) Providing menus that take diversity into consideration
- At the Fujisawa office, where there are many foreign employees, we have been providing lunches that do not contain animal products since August 2019.
(3) Holding in-house events
- To coincide with Nutrition Day on August 4th, meals using local specialties will be provided.
3. Future developments
Ebara will continue to promote health promotion efforts to realize a work-life balance that enriches the lives of our employees, and strive to achieve sustainable growth for the company.
