On Friday, February 7th, Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") held the "Tohoku Support Marche" to support the recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake in the employee cafeteria of its Haneda headquarters. EBARA supports the Reconstruction Agency's disaster victim support coordination project and has been cooperating with this project since 2016, with this being the fifth time the event has been held.

1. Background

This event was held in response to the desire of local residents to "let people know what is happening in the disaster-stricken areas," with the aim of sharing the current situation in the disaster-stricken areas with employees and supporting industrial recovery and promotion. Ebara provided the venue and employees participated, and the event was held for approximately 1,200 people working at the head office.

2-1 Overview

On the day, six groups from Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima sold local specialties from their respective regions. This time, we used signage and other means to publicize the current situation in the affected areas in advance, and many employees participated, and were able to share the current situation in the affected areas through conversations with members of each organization.

3. Future developments

Even after the Great East Japan Earthquake, damage caused by natural disasters continues. EBARA will continue to support the recovery of the region and the creation of a sustainable society not only through its business, but also through opportunities for each employee to contribute to society as a good corporate citizen.
